Synopsis
シノプシス
盲目の母と、その介護を続ける娘。終わらない夜の中にある母の孤独と、過酷な過去を抱えながら生きる娘の時間を静かに見つめる。遠い海辺の出来事を語るラジオドラマが現実に重なり、人はどうやって生き延びるのかという問いが浮かび上がる。愛が届かないまま、それでも続く日々を記録したドキュメンタリー。触れること、待つこと、朝が来ることの意味を、観客にそっと手渡す。
A blind mother and the daughter who cares for her. The film quietly observes the mother's solitude within an unending night, and the daughter's endurance as she lives with a painful past. Radio dramas describing distant events by the sea begin to overlap with reality, revealing a question at the heart of their lives: how do human beings continue to survive? Even when love cannot fully reach the other, days go on. This documentary records that fragile passage of time, gently offering the audience the meaning of touch, waiting, and the arrival of morning.

私はこの映画制作を通して、他人の人生に触れました。 カメラを向けることは、理解しようとする行為であると同時に奪う行為でもあります。撮影のあと、彼女たちの孤独も、痛みも、何ひとつ解決されていません。残ったのは、私が持ち帰った映像だけです。
困難な状況の中でも、尊厳とユーモアを失わず、率直にご自身を表現する人たちと出会い、私は自分自身の生き方を見つめ直さざるを得ませんでした。与えられたものに、私は何をもって応えることができるのか。その問いの中で、この映画を作っています。
In making this film, I came into contact with the lives of others. To point a camera is both an attempt to understand and, at the same time, an act of taking something away. Even after the filming ended, none of their loneliness or pain has been resolved. What remains is only the footage I carried back with me.
Yet I encountered people who, even in difficult circumstances, did not lose their dignity or sense of humor and who expressed themselves with honesty. Through them, I was compelled to reconsider my own way of living. How can I respond to what has been given to me? It is within this question that I am making this film.

1988年生まれ。横浜国立大学大学院都市イノベーション学府修了。濱口竜介監督『ハッピーアワー』（2015年）、『偶然と想像』（2021年）などの映画に助監督として参加する。
2017年に監督作『二十代の夏』を発表し、第32回ベルフォール国際映画祭（フランス）において日本映画として初めてグランプリ＆観客賞のダブル受賞をする。2023年、映画『マリの話』を監督し、シモキタ – エキマエ – シネマ K2他で劇場公開する。
Born in 1988. Graduated from the institute of Urban Innovation, Yokohama National University. Worked as an assistant director on films by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, including "Happy Hour" (2015) and "Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy" (2021).
In 2017, he directed "She's Beyond Me", which became the first Japanese film to receive both the Grand Prix and the Audience Award at the 32nd Entrevues Belfort International Film Festival (France). In 2023, he directed "Mari's Story", which was theatrically released at Shimokita – Ekimae – Cinema K2 and other venues.
